COVID–19 Important Information
In response to the coronavirus pandemic Kincardine and Deeside Befriending has had to move from our face to face befriender visits to a model of telephone support for the older, vulnerable people we serve.
We have taken this step to protect befriendees, befrienders and staff from exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and to keep everyone safe.
Kincardine and Deeside Befriending remains active in supporting older people (over 55yrs) living in the community who are experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
We are proud of the difference regular telephone contacts are making to many older people across Kincardine and Deeside and the input our volunteer befrienders are having bringing companionship and conversation to those they call, brightening individuals’ days and ensuring they do not feel forgotten.
We understand the vital link the befriending service provides, especially to the elderly and thank all our befrienders who are keeping in touch by telephone, card or letter during these challenging times.
If you think telephone befriending is something you or an older person you know would benefit from or you have an interest in becoming a volunteer befriender please do contact us.
